Job Description

About the role.

Specific duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to;

  • To provide a source of technical/professional health and safety advice to Directors, senior and operational managers, staff, internal and external agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Implementing the Company’s Health and Safety Policy, strategy and relevant procedures.
  • To assist in the development of policies, safe working systems and procedures for the management of health and safety.
  • To undertake projects to develop and promote health and safety awareness, policies and procedures.
  • Creating a safe and healthy environment without risk to residents, visitors, contractors and employees.
  • Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
  • Encourage accurate reporting of all accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • Assisting with investigations and recommendations for improvements and lessons learnt and ensure these are implemented into the Health and Safety Management Systems.
  • Ensuring safety inspections, fire drills practices and fire alarms are carried out and correctly recorded.

Job Requirements

About you.

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:


  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role who is qualified to NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.  (Essential)
  • Professional IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) membership, at least to GradIOSH. (Essential)
  • Experience of COSHH Risk Assessments, Display Screen Equipment and Fire Risk Assessment (Essential)
  • Provision of advice to Directors and Senior Managers (Essential)
  • Handling of H&S investigations (Essential)
  • Experience of formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedures (Essential)
  • NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or equivalent (Desirable).
  • Food Safety Level 3 (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the CQC Fundamental Standards particularly the following sections:- (Desirable)
